Amla Reetha Shikakai Herbal Shampoo to achieve thick hair and to prevent hair loss

The most frequently asked question when it comes to using shampoo is, which shampoo to be used, does it prevent hair loss, does it moisturize the hair etc etc,. While you may feel that the chemical based shampoos clean your scalp thoroughly and might have added volumizing effect, but the chemical based shampoos do more harm than good.

It is always better to switch to natural herbal shampoos. No, not even the one's sold in bottles which claim to be herbal shampoos.

Always go for the powdered form of raw herbs like Reetha and Shikakai. They posses the qualities similar to that of a shampoo, they lather when used on hair like any other shampoo. They are easily available in ayurvedic stores.

How to use ?

1. Obtain a fine powder of Reetha and Shikakai, mix it together with water to form a watery paste like consistency. Apply it on your hair and wash it gently. The herbs do not produce lather on the first application if you have applied oil on your hair.

Wash your hair once with Reetha and Shikakai and then apply it again to produce lather on the scalp.
A piece of advise, as far as my experience goes, buy the herbs from a shop which sells raw ayurvedic herbs, as, they will be in the purest form. I have tried with most reputed brands, they don't work the way they are supposed to. This defeats the very purpose of using them.

Alternately,

You can obtain dried Reetha, Shikakai and Amla herbs, boil it in water for 15-20 mins, leave the herbs in the decoction overnight and wash your hair the next day.

The powdered form is more effective and produces more lather/foam than the decoction.
Benefits of using herbal shampoos.
